Good Morning Meadowbrooke,

This Sunday, we’ll dive into James 2:14-26—a passage that includes two startling statements that should make every believer sit up and take notice. I believe you’ll find real encouragement as we explore these verses together. But for now, let their gravity sink in and stir your heart:

You believe that God is one. You do well; the demons also believe, and shudder.” (v. 19)

For just as the body without the spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.” (v. 26)

The two questions I would like you to consider as a way to prepare your heart for worship this Sunday are these:

  1. “What does it mean to believe in God?”
  2. “What evidence does belief in God provide with the use of words?"

As you prepare for worship this Sunday, I encourage you to set aside a few moments to reflect on the verses above and consider the questions posed. When you come to Meadowbrooke, bring your Bible and an open heart, ready to discover the powerful truths God has for you in His word—truths that will encourage you and inspire you to engage in His mission.

Remember to pray for our teens and the adults that will be with them for our youth group retreat this weekend.  Because Dillan and Becca will be with our teens to lead them in worship, my good friend Ryan and his family will be with us this Sunday to lead us in our worship at Meadowbrooke!

Grace,

Pastor Keith
