Good Morning Meadowbrooke,

I am looking forward to seeing our men this Saturday for our mens breakfast (if you have not signed up, you can still do so today by responding to this email).  I am also looking forward to diving into the Word with you this Sunday.  I want you to know that I believe this is a big weekend for Meadowbrooke and you really should make every effort to attend the mens breakfast as well as our Sunday morning worship service (for you football fans, come to the first service and you will be back home in plenty of time to watch the big game between the Broncos and Bills).

It is a big weekend for Meadowbrooke because I am convinced that God is going to use His word and our worship together to encourage you in ways that only He can.  The mens breakfast and Sundays worship will not serve to further discourage you if you are already feeling defeated, but to help you move closer to the kind of thriving God intends for you.

So, here is what I would like you to do in preparation for this weekend.  If you are one of our men, I would like for you to read Psalm 95 before showing up to the mens breakfast tomorrow.  In preparation for Sunday, I would like for you to read Revelation 2:1-7.  After you finish reading those passages, I would like for you to pray a very simple prayer.  You can pray something like this, or you can put it into your own words: God, please prepare my heart to receive your Word in a way that helps and emboldens me to do what is necessary to experience the joy and love you want for me through the power of your Holy Spirit.

I look forward to seeing you this weekend!

Because Jesus Lives!
