If you were unable to attend Meadowbrooke last Sunday and attempted to watch our livestream, you are aware of the technical problems we had with the audio of our livestream. On Monday, I rerecorded the sermon and encourage you to visit our website to listen to my sermon titled, The Three Whats of the Christian Life before this Sunday.
If you were able to participate in the worship service this past Sunday at Meadowbrooke or already listened to the sermon podcast, then you will recall my three points taken right from Ephesians 1:18-19, I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the boundless greatness of His power toward us who believe. We learn from these verses that the Christians hope is in the calling of God (see Eph. 1:4-6), the Christian is Gods inheritance because of the redemptive work of Jesus the Son (vv. 7-12), and there is a boundless power available to the Christian because of the sealing of God the Spirit (vv. 13-14). Because of these promises, we can also know that the God who saved us will receive His inheritance, and that is good news!
This Sunday, we will spend our time reflecting on how and why the above promises are ones that we can confidently wrap our minds, hearts, and lives around as the children of God (see vv. 19b-23). My encouragement to you is that you thoughtfully and prayerfully reflect upon the hope and encouragement that these words contain: These are in accordance with the working of the strength of His might which He brought about in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. And He put all things in subjection under His feet, and made Him head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.
I look forward to seeing you this Sunday in our 9:00 and 10:30 AM worship services as we will celebrate the hope we have in the One who is, head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fill all in all.
Because He Lives!
