This Sunday, we will continue our journey through the book of Revelation by examining one of the most well-known and often misunderstood passages in the entire book: The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse from Revelation 6:1–8.

We all see the world through a set of lenses. Some people interpret life through lenses of human progress, political power, personal freedom, material success, or spiritual self-expression. Others try to build a customized worldview by borrowing a little from each. But Revelation offers us something far better. It offers us a biblical worldview. It pulls back the curtain, revealing the world as it truly is under the sovereign rule of Jesus Christ.

In Revelation 6, John sees the Lamb open the first four seals, and four horsemen ride across the earth. These horsemen symbolize conquest, war, famine, injustice, suffering, and death. In other words, Revelation 6 does not ask us to imagine a strange world detached from our own. It unveils the world we already know—a world where human power cannot bring lasting peace, human systems cannot cure injustice, and human greatness cannot save us from the curse.

But this passage is not given to make us despair. It is given to help us see clearly. Even the horsemen do not ride freely. They ride only as the Lamb opens the seals. Evil is real, suffering is painful, and death still casts its shadow over the nations, yet none of it is outside Christ's authority and ability to restore what has been lost due to the curse of sin.

I hope you will join us this Sunday as we consider what Revelation 6 teaches about the world, human history, suffering, judgment, and the sovereign reign of the Lamb. I look forward to seeing you at our 9 or 11AM worship services.

Grace and peace,
Pastor Keith
