Worship Leader at Meadowbrooke Church

Position Summary (aka Job Overview)

Meadowbrooke Church is prayerfully seeking a full-time Worship Leader. The Worship Leader will be responsible for the healthy growth and maintenance of Meadowbrooke’s worship, AV, and online ministries. We seek a candidate who believes that hymns, praise songs, and music sung in service must be theologically sound. The Worship Leader is expected to incorporate Scripture, prayer, and other media to help the congregation better understand and know Jesus Christ. This individual will work closely with the Lead Pastor to maintain a consistent theme in every worship service. As a leader in the church, this individual must manifest the qualities of an Elder (1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9).

Primary Responsibilities:

Lead the congregation in weekly worship through song, prayer, and Scripture reading at weekly services and special events

Recruit, rehearse, and manage the worship team

Oversee and maintain the AV and online ministries

Engage and spiritually inspire the congregation through worship and teaching

Coordinate with the church staff in planning and execution of services and special events

Work with the Lead Pastor to ensure coherence in weekly Scriptural message and theme between worship and the sermon

Other Responsibilities Will Include:

Assisting and supporting the Lead Pastor with various pastoral duties as needed (e.g. weddings, funerals, home and hospital visits, etc.)

Provide guidance and support to those leading Meadowbrooke’s Life Groups and Young Adult and Youth Ministries

Become an active member and/or leader of a Life Group

Fulfill additional duties as needed

Bring about the vision statement of Meadowbrooke Church

 

Required Qualifications:

Manifest the qualifications of an Elder (1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9)

Demonstration of high-quality music performance ability

A degree in music or comparable performance experience

Experience in leading congregational worship

Ability to coordinate, rehearse, and instruct music with the worship team

Skilled knowledge in AV

Competency with the Bible so as to teach it and help others understand it better

Preferred Qualifications

Completion of Bible college, seminary training, and or ordination

-or-

Detail a plan to attend and/or complete Bible college or seminary training in pursuit of ordination

Proficiency in the use, maintenance, upkeep, and implementation of AV equipment
