Good Morning Meadowbrooke!

This week (May 16-19) Wynn Hansen will be visiting Meadowbrooke as a candidate for the role of Worship and Discipleship Pastor.  I have attached Wynn's résumé and his YouTube channel link.

Just a short bio of Wynn's life: He has been leading the music part of worship services for about 17 years in various capacities from large churches to smaller churches (ie. a church plant), grew up in South Africa on a ranch, and came to the United States in 2010 (you can read Wynn's testimony on his résumé).

Wynn has experienced his share of suffering over the years which includes a divorce after his mother-in-law died due to complications from COVID which affected his then wife who later communicated that she no longer wanted to be married to him.  Although his pastors, friends, and counselor did not believe Wynn did anything to disqualify himself from ministry (this was affirmed through every reference Wynn gave or was given to us by his references), he chose to step out of ministry for a season until he was sure God wanted him to enter back into pastoral ministry (this is something Wynn has been very transparent about).

Wynn and I began communicating and talking about Meadowbrooke's need for a Pastor of Worship and Discipleship back in early April.  Needless to say, we have developed a friendship that both of us are thankful for even if God does not lead Wynn to Meadowbrooke.  Since our first point of contact, Wynn has had two video meetings with me and a zoom meeting with Michaela and Hadley (who also believe Wynn could be a great fit for what we are looking for in a Pastor of Worship and Discipleship).

Since our first conversation, Wynn has read Nine Marks of a Healthy Church, by Mark Dever (a book I asked him to read, for it is the formative book all of the elders and staff were asked to read as well), he has watched a number of our live stream services, read through our Partnership Pathway (which is all about our core values and vision as a church), and spent many hours with me through emails, text messages, and phone calls.  The best way I can describe Wynn is the phrase that one of the pastors Wynn serve with communicated to me: The best way I can describe Wynn is that he is a Jesus guy.

Please take time to pray for wisdom and direction for Wynn (as he seeks what church God is leading him to serve at), and myself and the elders as we seek the man God is leading to Meadowbrooke.

Please make every effort to attend Meadowbrooke this Sunday in our 9:00 or 10:30 AM worship services, for that is the best way you will be able experience some of the ways God could use Wynn at and through Meadowbrooke.

Grace,

Pastor Keith
